Meet the One Health Happenings Team

K. Blair Budd, Chair   Bailey Archey   Caitlin Holly

Blair is an MPH Candidate in the University of Maryland School of Public Health Institute for Applied Environmental Health, USA. She has worked in the US EPA Office of Planning, Analysis, and Account-ability since 2017 and co-leads the EPA One Health Community of Practice. Blair is also Director of the One Health Academy in Washing-ton, DC. Her passion for One Health began as a volunteer with the North Carolina One Health Collaborative under Dr. Cheryl Stroud, continuing her volunteer support of all things One Health throughout her time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua. She was instrumental in creating the OHC Online One Health Opportu-nities Bulletin Board and is grateful for the opportunity to learn, teach, connect, and collaborate with the global One Health community.

Bailey is VP of Education for the Inter-national Student One Health Alliance (ISOHA). She is a third year veterinary student at Mississippi State Univer-sity, USA, having studied animal science there as an undergrad. During college she gained a deep appreciation for the role of animal agriculture in food security and global trade which led to her interest in One Health. Her long-term goal is to apply One Health efforts to agricultural policy and to regenerative agriculture. Bailey has interned with the United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and has advocated for One Health legislation among US federal lawmakers. In her free time, she enjoys painting, music, reading, and doing anything outdoors. She appreciates being a part of sharing One Health news with the world and looks forward to further involvement with the One Health community.

Caitlin is a Class of 2022, USA veterinary student pursuing small animal and exotic medicine with interests in emergency care, shelter practice, public health, accessibility of veterinary care, political advocacy, and information literacy. She joined the ISOHA Education Committee in 2020 and soon began assisting the OHC with One Health Happenings. Previously, she has held executive positions with various organizations at her university, including Veterinar-ians in One Health, the Diversity and Inclusion Veterinary Alliance, and the Student American Veterinary Medical Association. In her free time, Caitlin is an avid writer and enjoys playing video games with her cat nearby. She strives every day to inspire change and usher in a new generation of professionals that place One Health consider-ations and collaboration at the fore-front of their pursuits.
