One Planet Summit For Biodiversity

01/11/2021
Online, Conference

“Let's not wait until it's too late to act!” was the motto of the first One Planet Summit held on December 12, 2017 at the initiative of the President of the French Republic, the Secretary General of the United Nations, and the President of the World Bank Group.

Three years and three summits later, some forty coalitions and very concrete initiatives have been created. The organizations that carry them have committed themselves to accelerate the global transition to a more virtuous economy and to place climate and nature at the core of global recovery.

Hosted in 2021 jointly with the Great Green Wall, this Summit was coordinated by the Prince of Wales.

See launch of PREZODE (Preventing Zoonotic Disease Emergence) at the Summit.

PREZODE is designed to incorporate and reinforce networks in human health, animal welfare and the environment. In line with the One Health concept, it aims to better evaluate and detect emerging zoonotic threats and develop preventive measures with all players to protect humans, the planet, and socio-ecosystems. And in doing so, PREZODE reduces the threat of pandemics.
