This online course provides an opportunity for veterinary, medical/public health professionals, and students to refresh and gain knowledge of key zoonotic diseases of companion animals. It is approved for 10 hours of CE for veterinarians or veterinary technicians in jurisdictions that recognize AAVSB RACE approval. All participants receive a copy of the book by the same title as the course

Target Audience

This course is open to any animal health, human health, public health professional or student, or anyone interested in the prevention of zoonotic diseases.

Course Details

  • This course consists of 7 web-based lessons covering various aspects of zoonotic diseases of companion animals, focusing on prevention measures to reduce health risks to people and their pets.
  • The course contains information on the etiology and prevention of key zoonotic diseases of companion animals.
  • Work at your own pace / time. You do not need to be online at any specific time.
  • Each lesson takes around 60 minutes to complete and includes a corresponding study guide and quiz.
  • All students receive a copy of the Zoonoses: Protecting People and Their Pets textbook.
  • A certificate of completion will be provided for those scoring 70% or better.
