The health of people is connected to the health of animals and the environment, which are all affected by antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

The health of people is connected to the health of animals and the environment, which are all affected by antibiotic-resistant bacteria. US Antibiotic Awareness Week (formerly “Get Smart about Antibiotics Week”) is an annual one-week observance set for Nov. 13 – Nov. 19 to raise awareness of antibiotic resistance and the importance of appropriate antibiotic prescribing and use in both people and animals. The observance is a key component of CDC’s efforts to improve antibiotic stewardship in communities, in healthcare facilities, and on the farm in collaboration with state-based programs, nonprofit partners, and for-profit partners.
