These One Health educational events for US lawmakers and their staff, one for the House and one for the Senate, were sponsored by the Veterinary Caucus, the Public Health Caucus, AVMA, AAVMC, the One Health Commission and a coalition of over 70 organizational U.S. One Health partners.

These briefings were moderated by Joe Annelli, DVM, former Director of the USDA One Health Coordination Office, currently serving as Executive Vice President of the U.S. National Association of Federal Veterinarians.
Speakers included:
- Bernadette Dunham, DVM, PhD, former FDA-Center for Veterinary Medicine who is now with the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health. Dr. Dunham is currently serving as an advisor on the FDA’s new One Health Initiative.
- Daniel Lucey, MD, MPH, Senior Scholar at the O’Neil Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University and noted infectious disease pandemic expert. Dr. Lucey is also Adjunct Professor of Medicine - Infectious Diseases at the Georgetown University Medical Center.
