One Health Social Science - Food Safety and Food Security (OHSS-FSFS)  is a small Working Group of the One Health Commission. This group offers an opportunity for members to engage in the One Health space through scientific communication and sharing best practices to inform behaviour change for a better world. Composed of One Health proponents and enthusiasts from diverse scientific disciplines and continents, it aims to apply the One Health concept and social science approaches to address knowledge gaps and to share best practices in food safety and security for sustainable livelihoods.

 

The Food Safety and Security Small Working Group was founded in 2021 as part of the

One Health Social Sciences Initiative of the One Health Commission

 

OHSS-FSFS has coordinated many webinars where invited experts have shared experiences working across food safety and security topics such as farm biosecurity and gender equity on food security and safety.

 

Vision: This Small Working Group offers an opportunity for individuals to engage in the One Health space through scientific   communication and interactions around the social and behavioral aspects of food safety and security.

            Aim:  The OHSS-FSFS aims to apply the One Health concept and social science approaches to address knowledge gaps and to share best practices in food safety and security for sustainable livelihoods.
